“We run tours on Toyota Land Cruisers we have several. ”
written by drivemongolia on 01/12/2007
We run tours on Toyota Land Cruisers we have several 80 series and recently I purchased 75 which we used for one of our expeditions in Mongolian Gobi desert and I would say the only thing which didn’t satisfy me on 75 is not stable at all! We were driving 80 series on the dirt road not so fast but still 75 couldn’t keep up with us cause the handling wasn’t so good cause of the short wheel base. It would needed to slow down much more on most of the part of the road then 80 series would plus of it’s leaf springs make’s the the bumps much tougher then coiled 80 series. Otherwise it’s a decent camping or support vehicle for me.

“I have owned the Toyota Land Cruiser (and it’s a. ”
written by wavelength on 18/06/2007
I have owned the Toyota Land Cruiser (and it’s a truck) for 13 years. It had 90K, hard use and used body when I got it. It now has 400K worse body and is getting near the end, but what a truck. I put extractors early in the piece, replaced rear diff, shocks etc. and prop shaft along the way, did all the oil changes etc, serviced fuel pump and thats it. Steers well, had great gearing, average brakes, user friendly access and spares (just don’t go over 120). I advise wider tyres than standard and you will go anywhere. I have done the hardest Cape York tracks, beaches, mountains rivers fully loaded for years. Not a speedster or a comfort machine but as reliable, practical and economical as you want. The engine will pull loads up any hill in 4th that other more fancied will do in 3rd. Finally the rust and old age creeps in and the 7K I need to spend will go into a newer model with coil front suspension and longer rear leafs. Can’t beat the balance, versatility and guts of this. I always had Landies before. For a rugged, reliable, user friendly, long lasting, practical, and fun vehicle the troopy is unsurpassed. The latest model with the V8 etc I don’t think can replicate. Late models will become sought after very soon.

“I use my vehicle to accomplish difficult recoveries of. ”
I use my vehicle to accomplish difficult recoveries of stolen vehicles that somehow and up being taken to hard to get to places by people who have no regard or care of the stolen vehicle they have taken. This car earns its keep as well as being my day to day vehicle. I wouldn’t leave home without. I have had roughly 65 offers to sell my vehicle and have refused them all. I really could see myself owning this vehicle for the next 25 years. As when it arrived from Japan it had only ever seen the sun. Covered 200,000kms and is still running driving, and looks about 3 years old. Just like they used to do when car manufacturers cared about how long your car should last. A 2.4 litre turbo engine is known as an engine that is bullet proof with regular oil changes. I have serviced these vehicles for the last 20 years and they don’t require new components replacing other than general service items as long as you keep on top of them they don’t let u down. I let my wife use it at weekends and it actually ended up being used as a rescue vehicle for some mountain climbers in wales. One year at the Glastonbury event I earned £700 towing vehicles of the car park that were submerged in water halfway up their doors. Drove mine out of water like a walk in the pond. These vehicles will become very hard to find in years to come. Buy one now whilst you still can. Three thousand pounds will get you a good one.

“I hate it so much — it nearly flipped over when I went. ”

I hate it so much — it nearly flipped over when I went off-road. I would suggest an Isuzu Trooper.
Denpacc’s Response to 216886_Bighorn111’s Review
If we in Canada could be so lucky to have vehicles like the 75 Series Cruiser sold here, Diesel version of course. Well built, reliable and solid off-road performer in my humble opinion. Personally if it flipped on you I think it is because, perhaps, you were driving in a manner not suited for the vehicle, I mean it’s not like the vehicle flipped over itself. The vehicle was designed for all types of terrain which means it will have a high centre of gravity, like all good 4×4’s do. But then again we don’t have the diesel Isuzu here either.
Cheers,
Denny

You obviously don’t know how to drive a 4 wheel drive vehicle, as you put it in a position that was unsuitable for what tou expected it to do. I suggest that you go to a driving school and get some lessons.as there is not a car that could be built for you

“The toyota landcruiser 75 series continues a tried and. ”
written by JayJay994 on 29/03/2004
The toyota landcruiser 75 series continues a tried and tested line of the landcruiser series. With decades of experience behind designing and building these machines, it goes without saying that the 75 series is truly the most reliable, durable, practical and indestructable Landcruiser yet.
It can seat up to 11 people (in TroopCarrier config) or 10 (RV Spec). I have the RV, which I’ve had since new in August 1995. To date there have been no problems whatsoever, and if you do the regular maintenance (which you should for any vehicle anyway) this vehicle should last you 25+ years.
The engine sounds sweet and is very quiet for a diesel, and is tractable from off idle which is essential for smooth and steady progress through very tough terrain.
Fuel economy is driver dependent. You can drive like a bat out of hell and get upwards of 16L/100km or you can drive more sensibly and achieve figures around the 11L/100km mark. Either way, with the Twin 90L tanks giving you a total capacity of 180L of Diesel, you’re still looking at a range of 1000+++ km. Best I’ve got was approximately 1600KM on a set of tanks, with 8 people on board + luggage + supplies. Try and do that in any other 4WD.
Though no longer in Production, these vehicles are still very much sought after. I had an offer for mine (which has done 250,000km)from a used car dealer for AUD$35,000 cash. Not too bad for a vehicle which I initially paid $51,000 back in 1995. Needless to say I didn’t take up the offer, nor was I tempted. I’m keeping this baby!
Toyota Land Cruiser: BJ75 Troop Carrier
We here at STA have a affinity for Toyotas. With the network we have created over the years we are in a position to import some of our favorites models.Below you will find the awesome Land Cruiser Troop Carrier that has arrived to the United States. 1990 Toyota BJ75 Troop Carrier (Troopy)Model:BJ75Engine: 3B 3.4LMileage: 156,220VIN: JT1V0BJ7509003835This is a great example of a Toyota Troopy. You will be hard pressed to find one in this good ofshape at anaffordable price. This vehicle was purchased in Italy, here it was taken care of by a true Toyota 4×4 aficionado. This was one out of his collection and we are so excited to bring it to you.
The vehicle has the 3B motor that runs like a clock. It is very quiet inside the cab,and could be driven everyday. The fold down jump seats allow for extra passengers, nd can stow away for camping gear, r trips to the lawn and garden store. There is no A/C, nly forced air bought in from outside the vehicle. It does have heat.
The paint is in good condition. There is some fading and peeling of the clear coat. There are a few spots of rust on the rear quarter inside the rear fender well. This paint job isprobably around 8-10 years old so there are a few scratches from normal use. All lights andgauges work, ith one of the rear driver side tail light lens being broken but operational.
This truck can be a great driver or, or some of you who like to tinker, n amazing starting point for a full on restoration. Everything is here, lleviating the search for minor parts andpeices. This truck currently has a Alabama title, llowing you to easily transfer the title in your own state. This is a wonderful vehicle ready for a new home.
