The Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo is a special edition of the Fortuner. This will be launched shortly. The Sportivo edition gets some cosmetic upgrades. There will be no changes to the powertrain of the vehicle. The TRD Sportivo is being launched for the festive season. The changes in the Sportivo edition make the Fortuner look more attractive and sportier. It also helps add a different identity to the SUV. Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo 2017 Engine

The Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo 2017 gets a 2.8-litre diesel engine and it is very refined. This engine is offered with six-speed automatic transmission option only. It only has a 4×2 variant. This engine is peppy and is a comfortable highway cruiser. There are no changes on the diesel engine. It remains the same. The engine specifications remain unchanged. At the same time, the manual transmission isn’t available on the Sportivo.

The Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo 2017 has aggressive looks. The front grille looks very stylish and is a blackened one that also looks mean. The headlamps are sleek and they are the same ones as the regular Fortuner. The Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo 2017 has good road presence just like the regular vehicle one. There are body decals on the side that reads TRD Sportivo. The tail lamps remain the same and also the rear portion. There is a TRD Sportivo badge on the boot lid. The rear spoiler is well integrated.

Interior

The interiors on the Fortuner are the same as the regular Fortuner. They have an upmarket and premium feel. The steering wheel gets red stitching and so does the gear knob and also the leather seats. The red stitching adds some sportiness to the interiors. The centre console has a touchscreen system with AC controls, vents and shift on the fly for 4×4 variants. In terms of features the Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo edition 2017 has a reverse camera, bluetooth connectivity, maps, push start and stop, leather upholstery, bi-beam headlamps and LEDs.

Space

In terms of space, the Fortuner 2017 is same as the regular Fortuner. The front row has large seat and the space is just perfect. Driver’s seat has electric adjustment. The second row has good space, comfortable seating however the head room is a bit tight. These seats slide and recline and there are AC vents on the roof. The third row, well if the front seats are moved ahead, there is decent knee room. The head room too is just fine. With all the rows raised, there isn’t much space in the boot. However, the third row folds flat as the seats move on the side. There is no electrically folding for these seats. The tail gate is electric.

2017 Safety

In terms of safety, it will have seven airbags and ABS. It has hill assist control and descent assist control. Then there is vehicle stability control too. This is offered on all the engine options of the Fortuner. There are no additions on the Sportivo in terms of features.

GALLERY: Toyota Fortuner 2.4 VRZ 4×2 with TRD kit

The Toyota Fortuner range was recently updated in Malaysia, which saw revisions to existing variants – 2.4 4×4 and the petrol-powered 2.7 SRZ 4×4 – as well as the introduction of two new ones – 2.4 VRZ 4×2 and 2.4 VRZ 4×4. Here, we bring you a full gallery of a 2.4 VRZ 4×2 that has been fitted with a few optional accessories.

Revisions for the Fortuner aren’t particularly extensive, with new LED front fog lights being installed on the 2.4 VRZ and 2.7 SRZ models, along with rear disc brakes that now come as standard on all variants.

The 2.4 VRZ 4×2 has an equipment list that is largely similar to the 2.7 SRZ, with items like automatic bi-LED headlights (with LED DRLs), 18-inch alloy wheels, puddle lights, keyless entry, push-button start, a 4.2-inch colour multi-info display, auto front and rear air-con, cruise control, brown leather upholstery, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, premium solar and security tint, a powered tailgate and a DVD-AVX infotainment system with an eight-inch touchscreen and six speakers.

It’s the same case when it comes to safety, with seven airbags (including one for the driver’s knee), ABS with EBD and brake assist and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC). The 4×4 model also receives Active Traction Control (A-TRC) and Downhill Assist Control (DAC). The last item is new for the 2.7 SRZ 4×4.

This particular unit of the 2.4 VRZ 4×2 is specified with a TRD Sportivo body kit (RM4,982), which tacks on an aerokit, black front grille, emblem, body stripes and specific floors mats. There’s also a panoramic view monitor (RM2,650) and a blind spot monitor with rear cross traffic alert (RM1,855) as well.

Under the bonnet, the 2.4 litre models get a 2GD-FTV 2.4 litre turbodiesel with 150 PS and 400 Nm, while the 2.7 SRZ receives a 2TR-FE 2.7 litre naturally-aspirated Dual VVT-i petrol engine that outputs 166 PS and 245 Nm.

A six-speed automatic transmission is the only pairing for both engines, with the 2.4 VRZ variants and 2.7 SRZ getting paddle shifters. Aside from the 2.4 VRZ 4×2 which is rear-wheel drive, all other Fortuner variants are equipped with a part-time four-wheel drive system with an automatic disconnecting differential (ADD) as well as a rear differential lock.

Price wise, the base 2.4 AT 4×4 kicks things off at RM169,800, and is followed by the 2.7 SRZ AT 4×4 at RM181,800. Next up is the 2.4 VRZ 4×2 that retails at RM185,800, while the 2.4 VRZ 4×4 is yours for RM195,800. All prices are on-the-road without insurance, inclusive of a five-year, unlimited-mileage warranty.

Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo at 2017 Thai Motor Expo — Live

Toyota is displaying the Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo at the 2017 Thai Motor Expo. The company had introduced the Thai-spec second-gen Fortuner TRD Sportivo in March last year.

The Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo features a slightly more aggressive exterior than the standard Toyota Fortuner. TRD Sportivo design bumpers, dark chrome front grille, 20-inch TRD Sportivo design black alloy wheels, rear trunk cover trim, TRD Sportivo emblem on the tailgate and the exhaust pipe give it unique exterior styling. It also gets black top film, seen in the display model in the images here. There are two colour choices: White Pearl CS and Attitude Black Mica.

The Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo has some level of distinctiveness on the inside as well. Key interior features include TRD Sportivo design Red Carbon Kevlar Optitron meter, black and red seats with red stitches, black and red synthetic leather front console with Dark Silver Line, Red push-start button with TRD emblem and TRD Sportivo design floor carpets.

The Thai-spec Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo is 4,795 mm long, 1,855 mm wide and 1,835 mm tall. It has a 2,750 mm wheelbase and a 193 mm ground clearance. It is available exclusively with the 1GD-FTV (High) engine. The 2.8-litre four-cylinder diesel mill produces 177 PS at 3,400 rpm and 450 Nm of torque from 1,600-2,400 rpm. A 6-speed automatic transmission is standard, while a 4WD system is optional.

The Thai-spec Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo’s prices range from 16,53,000-17,29,500 Baht (INR 3,267,097.06-3,418,296.65).

Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo Launched in India; Priced at INR 31.01 Lakh

Ahead of the festive season, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has launched the Fortuner TRD Sportivo, the sportier edition of one of the most popular SUVs in the Indian auto market. The new Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo edition is available in the 4×2 AT variant and only in Pearl White color.

Designed and developed by Toyota Racing Development (TRD), the newest edition of the Fortuner not only enhances road presence but also the sporty quotient and promises to deliver Toyota’s legendary promise of Quality, Durability & Reliability (QDR).
