В чём разница между Land Rover и Range Rover
Для многих Land Rover и Range Rover это один и тот же внедорожник, при этом есть и такие, кто знает, что это два совершенно разных внедорожника, но всё равно не понимают разницы между ними.
Действительно, а в чём собственно разница, если оба внедорожника производит один и тот же автопроизводитель Land Rover?
Чтобы разобраться в этом не простом вопросе для начала необходимо отметить, что британский автопроизводитель Land Rover был основан в 1948 году и изначально все производимые им внедорожники назывались Land Rover, а внедорожники Range Rover появились только в 1970 году. Но зачем британцам вдруг понадобилось ещё одно название для своих внедорожников, спросите вы? Или это отдельное подразделение? И да и нет.
Всё дело в том, что внедорожники Land Rover всегда были предназначены для бездорожья и соответственно ориентированы на любителей приключений и активного отдыха, а в 1970 году британский автопроизводитель решил создать модель более универсального по назначению и более роскошного внедорожника, предназначенного не только для бездорожья, но и для городских условий. В итоге такая модель внедорожника была создана и получила название Land Rover Range Rover.
Да, именно так, потому что Range Rover это относящаяся к премиальному сегменту модель Land Rover, которая в свою очередь имеет ещё и свой отдельный от внедорожников Land Rover модельный ряд. Ничего подобного нет, пожалуй, ни у одного автопроизводителя.
Примечательно, что изначально у внедорожников Land Rover Range Rover не было своего отдельного модельного ряда и все они, как любая модель того или иного автомобиля, различались только поколением. Но в определённый момент британцы решили всё это дело немного разнообразить, после чего кроме Land Rover Range Rover на свет сначала появилась его спортивная версия Land Rover Range Rover Sport, а затем роскошный Land Rover Range Rover Velar и роскошный, но при этом компактный и относительно доступный Land Rover Range Rover Evoque.
В общем, ответ на поставленный выше вопрос заключается в том, что Land Rover это доступные внедорожники, ориентированные, прежде всего на бездорожье, а Range Rover это относящиеся к премиальному сегменту роскошные внедорожники, ориентированные на людей с достатком, для которых статус внедорожника важнее его внедорожных способностей.

WLTP is the new official EU test used to calculate standardised fuel consumption and CO2 figures for passenger cars. It measures fuel, energy consumption, range and emissions. This is designed to provide figures closer to real-world driving behaviour. It tests vehicles with optional equipment and with a more demanding test procedure and driving profile.
