Replace the stop lamp switch (Refer to GROUP 35A — Brake Pedal .) Then go to Step 13.
STEP 7. Connector check: A-68 ASTC-ECU connector, C-02 joint connector, F-02 rear combination lamp (stop: LH) connector, F-10 rear combination lamp (stop: RH) connector, F-06 high mounted stop lamp connector, C-15 intermediate connector, C-18 intermediate connector

STEP 8. Voltage measurement at C-139 stop lamp switch connector.

STEP 9. Resistance measurement at C-139 stop lamp switch connector.
Q. Is the check result normal?
STEP 10. Resistance measurement at C-139 stop lamp switch connector and C-02 joint connector.
Q. Is the check result normal?
STEP 11. Voltage measurement at A-68 ASTC-ECU connector.
Q. Is the check result normal?
An open circuit in signal line has occurred in the wiring harness between A-68 ASTC-ECU connector terminal No.7 and C-02 joint connector terminal No.1, therefore, repair it. Then go to Step 13.
Code No.C1340: Open Circuit Abnormality of Stoplamp Switch
Repair the CAN bus line (Refer to GROUP 54C, CAN bus line Diagnostic flow ). Then go to Step 2.
STEP 2. Check whether the diagnosis code is reset.

The procedure is complete.

Q. Is the check result normal?
STEP 5. Voltage measurement at ASTC-ECU connector A-48.
Q. Is the check result normal?
STEP 6. Check ASTC-ECU connector A-48, stop lamp switch connector C-114, junction connector C-10 and intermediate connector C-13 for loose, corroded or damaged terminals, or terminals pushed back in the connector.
Q. Is the check result normal?
An open or short circuit may be present between the stop lamp switch and ASTC-ECU. Repair the wiring harness between ASTC-ECU connector A-48 terminal 7 and stop lamp switch connector C-114 terminal 1. Then go to Step 8.
Repair or replace the damaged component(s). Then go to Step 8.
STEP 7. Check whether the diagnosis code is reset.
Q. Is code No.C1340 set?
Replace the hydraulic unit assembly (integrated with ASTC-ECU). Then go to Step 8.
It can be assumed that this malfunction is intermittent. Refer to GROUP 00, How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points — How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction .
STEP 8. Check whether the diagnosis code is reset.
