«Самые авангардные дизайнеры Великобритании» планируют наращивать интенсивность доработок постепенно.

Британец пакистанского происхождения Афзал Кан и его группа компаний «имени себя» известны по большей части радикальными доработками автомобилей марки Land Rover. Но чтобы успеть застолбить за собой «право первородства» касательно тюнинга Defender нового поколения, Project Kahn и еще одна фирма Афзала Chelsea Truck Company предпочли пока ограничиться мелочами.

При этом по уже сложившейся традиции проект получил звучное имя — Land Rover Defender 110 Chelsea Truck Launch Edition, хотя анонсированный тюнинг-кит включает в себя по большей части ультимативно-черный декор для кузова, тонированные стекла и 22-дюймовые колесные диски. Впрочем, в Project Kahn обещают обеспечить каждому заказчику режим максимального благоприятствования в вопросах альтернативной отделки интерьера с применением перфорированной и стеганой кожи любых мыслимых оттенков.

Стоимость готового «Дефендера» от Chelsea Truck Company – того, что изображен на фотографиях – составляет 69 999 фунтов (чуть более 6 млн рублей). К слову, стандартный Land Rover Defender 110 в пятидверном кузове оценен в Великобритании в базовые 45 600 фунтов за версию с полным приводом и 200-сильным дизелем. Цены для нашей страны пока не названы — ожидается, что это произойдет осенью.

На базе предыдущих «Дефендеров» подопечные Афзала Кана строили порой куда более радикальные проекты (например, шестиколесный пикап Flying Huntsman), но в компании заявили, что одним скромным пакетом доработки нового внедорожника не ограничатся: уже запущен процесс создания более глубоких вариантов модернизации.

Land Rover Defender 110 1 of 7 Official James Bond Spectre SVX

In 1962, over a winning hand of Chemin-de-Fer, a secret agent introduced himself and twenty-five films later he needs no introduction. By the third film, 1964’s Goldfinger, the franchise had found its footing and 007 his car, the Aston Martin DB5. The title song’s opening chorus “Goldfinger, He’s the man, the man with the Midas touch” as belted out by Shirley Bassey, is relevant today as it can be argued that any car featured in the long-running film series has the Midas touch. Values of the Aston Martin DB5 have skyrocketed since the re-introduction of the model in Daniel Craig’s first outing as James Bond in 2006’s Casino Royale. It had a starring role in 2012’s Skyfall and featured in the closing credits of the 2015 film Spectre.

Sam Mendes, the director of both Skyfall and Spectre wanted a spectacular snow chase scene and turned to Jaguar Land Rover to assist. With the standard Land Rover 110 Defender deemed a bit too bland for the baddy’s getaway car they turned to leading Land Rover modifiers, Bowler. The firm transformed 10 standard production, Santorini Black, crew-cab 110s into the SVX Concept or Spectre Defender. The cars featured huge 37-inch tyres, heavy-duty roll cages plus toughened suspensions with rose joints and Bilstein rally dampers. A hydraulic handbrake was installed, and its lever repositioned. The engine was tuned to give 180bhp and Recaro seats fitted.

There are a number of replica Spectre Defenders available on the market but, that’s what they are, replicas, and what we have here is the real deal, and like anything with genuine Bond movie provenance, there will always be a ready market.

Kahn Releases Barolo Black Land Rover Defender XS 110

The beginning of the week starts with two exceptional news about the Land Rover family of vehicles. The first one, which we will review below, is on A. Kahn Design‘s latest project involving the Defender XS 110, and the second one we will keep in secret for the next hour. Ok, ok, it is about one of the most impressive cars in the segment, frequently adored by women and recently announced as a symbol of Britain. Have you guessed it?

But, going back to the topic, the team of specialists at Kahn sent us several photos of a Defender XS 110, with some detailed information which reveals what they have changed. Firstly, we must mention that some of the upgrades included are delivered Chelsea Truck Company’s.

Thus, we have a very contemporary looking seven seater, dressed in Barolo Black «coat». Starting with the front of the vehicle, it now features brand new X-Lander grille and challenging bumper in which are integrated LED Diamond bright headlights. There are also visible front and rear wide wing arches and bumper sump guard mesh hood vents that basically help to minimize the temperature of the engine.

Another prominent asset of the updated exterior is the new shoes. They are called Mondial wheels and are painted in Piano Black. On all four corners they come in the size of 9×20 inches and are coupled with 275x55x20 tyres. Beneath them we can also see painted brake callipers. At the back, we can not pass without mentioning the twin crosshair exhaust system and hard-wearing mud flaps.

Opening the door, one immediately feels the luxury imbedded inside this SUV. Almost every single element, ranging from the centre glove box to the roof headlining and sun visors is upholstered in seats in quilted and perforated leather. Of course, the same has happened to the three rows of seats.

Those inside will also enjoy the new interior look, due to the addition of Churchill time clock & rev counter fascia, door, new Alcantara sun visors, the vented machined aluminium foot pedals and tuning company’s billet steering wheel. Great project, isn’t it?

Here is Why Kahn Land Rover Defender XS 110 CWT is the Perfect Vehicle for You

Kahn Land Rover Defender XS 110 CWT is this week’s project presented by the talented experts at Kahn Design. They took a step further with the imposing posture of this classy Defender, by adding a lot of tweaks to the exterior and interior. Chelsea Truck Company was also involved in the project and it actually made sure that this particular Land Rover will stay a true off-roader.

The 7 seater is basically the perfect vehicle for you if you want to tackle any road condition. Literally. But this project takes everything a little bit further due to the exquisite work of the designers at Kahn. Here is why:

External Graciousness

Kahn Land Rover Defender XS 110 CWT makes a strong impression when you see it for the first time. With its Orkney Grey paint and Satin Black roof it captures the attention immediately. Other specific changes in comparison to the stock model include side and bonnet vents as well as wide front and rear wide wing arches.

At the front we see a brand new set of shadow chrome headlights above a new bumper that features tron lighting. Prerequisite equipment is Kahn’s colour-matched X-Lander front grille.

When it comes to wheels and tires combination, these experts do know what to do! Here you see a set of 8 x 16-inch Satin Black 1948 Defend wheels coupled with 275/55/20 tires.

Proceeding to the rear, you can spot the new mud flaps, stainless steel cross-hair exhaust system, rear bumper and a Chelsea Truck Company spare wheel cover.

Luxurious Interior

As in all Kahn designed vehicles, this one features entirely new seats. The standard ones have been replaced with GTB Sports seats in Black Leather with Harris Tweed trim. At the rear, there have been added rear bench seats.

Other non-stock additions here are the centre glove box in quilted and perforated leather, passenger dashboard top, sun visors and roof grab handles in Harris Tweed. Although there are no pictures of the steering wheel or other new part inside, we believe Kahn Design’s representatives as they say that this Land Rover Defender features a brand new leather steering wheel, machined aluminium vented foot pedals, and front and rear cabin floor mats.

Custom Kahn Land Rover Defender 110 Makes Impressive Debut

Kahn Land Rover Defender 110 Double Cab Pick Up is this week’s offer by the famous British tuning company. The beautiful Defender is dressed in stylish Corris Grey exterior color and features a lot of styling tweaks that capture the attention. Abundantly modified, this Land Rover is an example for a good improvement when it comes to tuning.

Looking at it, my first thoughts are that I would definitely love to drive it. So let’s see what happened to this Defender that has made it so charming.

Opulent Exterior

This Kahn Land Rover Defender 110 is characterized by lavish modifications. Starting with the front, the car received new bumper which has integrated daytime running lights and shadow chrome headlights. The face of the Defender is also characterized by color matched X-Lander front grille and in-house made lower sump guard as well as stainless steel bonnet with exposed bolt apertures.

At the sides we see 1939 Retro wheels with mud flaps, new side vents, side steps and wider wheel arches, while the rear got new cross-hair exhaust system.

Refined Interior

The cabin of the 110 Double Cab Pick Up received ‘some’ changes as well. In fact, I am always stunned by the exquisite work of the tuner when it comes to the interior. Here, both front seats have been substituted with Sports GTB ones trimmed in a soft mix of black leather and Alcantara.

The steering wheel was changed with in-house made one. Below the waistline, the Defender received machined aluminium foot pedals. At last, rounding out this project is the Churchill time clock that has been incorporated into the dashboard.
