How to Uninstall CrossOver Chrome OS

Due to differences with the Chrome OS Linux environment the regular Uninstall Crossover application will only delete your bottles but not remove CrossOver.

Instead you will have to open the Linux terminal and run the command sudo dpkg —purge crossover to completely remove CrossOver and all of your bottles.

If you want to remove CrossOver but keep your bottles instead run sudo dpkg -r crossover

Using the CrossOver Removal Tool

CrossOver stores files in several locations in your home folder. To make things simple, we created our CrossOver Removal Tool that will delete all of CrossOver’s files, Windows applications you installed in CrossOver and the CrossOver application itself. If you want to save your Windows application installs before deleting, check out the Archiving and Restoring Bottles tutorial before proceeding.

1. Download the CrossOver Removal Toolhere and enter oem and click unlock to begin the download.
2. When the download is complete, double-click the CrossOver_removal_tool.zip icon to unzip the file.
   
3. Once unzipped, double-click the CrossOver_removal_tool icon.
   
4. You will see an error message saying the tool can’t be opened. This is expected with the default macOS security settings, but we can assure you that our removal tool is perfectly safe. Click OK to dismiss the warning.
   
5. Next right-click (control-click) on the CrossOver Removal Tool icon and select Open. This time the tool will open successfully.
   
6. When the tool is finished uninstalling CrossOver, a notification is displayed in the top right corner of your screen.
   

Manually uninstalling CrossOver

Using the CrossOver removal tool is the easiest way to delete all of CrossOver’s files from your computer, but in case you’re not able to run it, here are the steps to manually delete CrossOver as well.

CrossOver stores its files and configuration data in a hidden Library folder located in your Home folder. To access the Library folder, do the following:

1. Click on the Finder icon in your dock.
2. Click on the Go menu in the main menu bar.
3. Press and hold the Option key on your keyboard.
4. Select the Library menu item that appears in the Go menu.

1. Delete the CrossOver folder

Navigate to Users>(home folder)>Library>Application Support and drag the CrossOver folder to the trash.

2. Delete Crossover Preferences

Navigate to Users>(home folder)>Library>Preferences and drag all the files that start with com.codeweavers to the trash.

3. Delete the CrossOver Folder

Navigate to Users>(home folder)>Applications and delete the CrossOver folder if it exists.

4. Trash CrossOver Icon

Finally go to your main Applications folder and drag the CrossOver application icon to the trash.

The CrossOver application and its associated files have now been deleted from your Mac. If you wish to use CrossOver again you will need to redownload it from CodeWeavers.com.

Removing Crossover Linux

CrossOver is stored in two locations on Linux. The CrossOver binaries are in /opt/cxoffice or ~/cxoffice (depending on install method used) while the bottles and config files are in ~/.cxoffice .

Using a Package Manager

1. Right-click on the CrossOver entry (or go to the Package menu) and choose Mark for Removal. (Mark for Removal deletes the CrossOver binaries, and Mark for Complete Removal deletes the binaries and the bottles.)

Manual Removal

To remove CrossOver manually, from a terminal, run the following:

sudo rm -rf /opt/cxoffice rm -rf ~/.cxoffice

If CrossOver is installed in ~/cxoffice instead of /opt/cxoffice run:

sudo rm -rf ~/cxoffice rm -rf ~/.cxoffice

To remove CrossOver, config files, and installed bottles on Fedora 23 and later, run the following:

We recommend using the CrossOver Uninstaller to remove a .bin installation.

Locate the uninstaller by searching for Uninstall CrossOver in your Dash.

Double-click the Uninstall CrossOver icon. Then choose whether to keep your bottles during the uninstall.

Установка Crossover в Ubuntu

Crossover — коммерческая надстройка над Wine от компании CodeWears. Она исправляет множество проблем и недочетов этой программы. Установка Crossover в Ubuntu

Скачать установочный deb-пакет для Ubuntu можно с официального сайта CodeWears. Откройте страницу загрузки и укажите на ней свое имя и электронную почту. После этого можно нажать кнопку Download Trial Now, чтобы скачать самую последнюю версию программы.

Почти сразу начнётся загрузка, если нет — нажмите ссылку с текстом Click here.

Если у вас 64-разрядная система, перед тем как переходить к установке, нужно выполнить в терминале (вызовите его командой Ctrl+Alt+T) следующие действия, чтобы разрешить установку 32-битных программ:

sudo dpkg —add-architecture i386

Теперь можно устанавливать. Откройте полученный пакет в центре приложений и нажмите кнопку Установить:
