Не работает АБС. (На фото видно.) Клапан в гидроусилителе чудит временами. (На днях испавится.) Нет защелки ремня среднего пассажира сзади. Остальное работает все. Т3. (Подогрев двигателя не проверял. Он на 110В 🙂 и разъем на фаркоп(никогда ничего не таскал)) Передний мост, может услышать, тот кто ездил на ГЧ, в районе 100км/ч. Остальные не услышат. По работам и запчастям, за 6 лет владения, есть отчет. Если интересно выложу.
Основные вопросы по косметике. А то, бы продавал дороже. Есть заклееная трещина на переднем бампере, потертости на бамперах, мелкие вмятины на передних крыльях, собрались ржаветь двери по низу (машина стала мало ездить), характерные коцки на картах передних дверей и т.д. Фото приложены.

Врядли мое лифтованное ведерко кому-то нужно, кроме меня 🙂 Поэтому я его не оцениваю. Только поиграть если тоже кому. У вас все-таки условно на каждый день авто.

Добрый день!Какая раздатка на Вашем авто,какие мосты?В каком состоянии силовые элементы кузова?Странно,что собрались ржаветь кромки дверей. Гранды стойко держат удар в этом плане(кроме внешних порогов,пер.крыльев и хлопушки).Краснодар — не Питер,зимой поливать дороги всякой дрянью,которая разъедает все подряд, нужды нет.

Судя по всему РК — NV249OD, с 1996 года, системы On Demand.
По дверям, сам удивлен. Покупатель тут один, дотошный смотрел, показал мне. (Он фанат Грандов. Его Лимитед, как вчера с завода.!) Но до ржавчины там еще есть время, планирую позаниматься ими, зачищу, посмотрю. Пороги и крылья уже сделал. У меня ощущение, что канадцы хуже по железу, чем европейцы. Свой предыдущий ГЧ 95 г, сделанный в Австрии, я отцу отдал. Так, там пороги без намека на коррозию. т3.
А снег в Краснодаре, за крайние 10 лет, я один только раз помню, две недели лежал. Обычно за 3-4 дня тает.

By 1997, the success of Jeep’s Grand Cherokee line had grown quite evident. Sales of the company’s newest wagon had superseded all expectations, with more than a quarter-million units moved during the 1996 model year alone. Nonetheless, after half a decade in production, the Grand Cherokee’s popularity showed no sign of faltering, as the domestic SUV market only continued to grow.

Throughout its first several years of production, the Jeep Grand Cherokee underwent only modest revisions, many of which were aimed at improving upon the wagon’s list of luxury amenities and enhancing overall ride quality. A number of specialty trim packages were also added to the Grand Cherokee lineup, in a bid to maintain consumer interest. This is a trend that would ultimately carry over into the 1997 model year, during which time Chrysler would amend the Grand Cherokee lineup once more.

A Premium Jeep For Every Occasion

1997 Grand Cherokee TSi

Though changes to the Grand Cherokee were few and far between for 1997, Jeep did begin offering a new trim package, known as the TSi model. This package included a sport suspension system, premium leather interior, and upgraded stereo system, and aluminum-alloy wheels. TSi-model Grand Cherokees were priced slightly above the returning Laredo, yet below the top-tier Limited model.

The 1997 model year also served as the final outing for the Orvis-Edition Grand Cherokee. This specialty package included a full-time Quadra-Trac four-wheel drive and was painted in Moss Green livery. The Orvis-Edition Grand Cherokee also featured two-tone cream/green leather upholstery, as well as specialty “Orvis” floor mats. However, this partnership would ultimately run its course, leading to the discontinuation of the Orvis-Edition Cherokee prior to the 1998 model year.

Subtle Tweaks

By 1997, the Jeep Grand Cherokee had entered its sixth year of production. Those at the helm of Chrysler knew that continued growth would become necessary, if they hoped to remain competitive with other SUVs of the era, such as Ford’s Explorer. Therefore, plans for the production of the second-generation Grand Cherokee were placed in motion. As a result, the only minor tweaks were made to the first-generation Grand Cherokee during its final years, with the 1997 model being no exception.

The 4.0 Inline-Six continued its reign as the Grand Cherokee’s base-powerplant, and by this time, had gained quite the reputation for reliability. However, those looking for additional performance could always spring for the optional 5.2-liter V8, which produced 220 horsepower, and 300 lb.-ft. of torque. Ironically, 1997 served as the first year in which the Grand Cherokee’s V8 could be optioned without a 4WD drivetrain, thereby boosting fuel economy for consumers who did not require a host of off-road capabilities.

Outside of the introduction of Jeep’s all-new TSi package, additional changes for the 1997 model year included upgrades to the Grand Cherokee’s anti-lock brakes, carpet, and stereo system, as well as functional modifications to the wagon’s tilt-steering column. Consumers could also select from eight new paint colors introduced before 1997 production, all of which now received anti-chip paint treatment.

The 1997 model year illustrated the rising popularity of the Jeep Grand Cherokee quite vividly. For the third straight year, sales numbers exceeded the 250,000 unit mark, further validating Jeep’s entry into the full-size SUV marketplace. Though this market continued to be dominated by Ford’s Explorer, the Jeep Grand Cherokee served as the more viable option for those in search of robust power and luxurious amenities, all without compromise to off-road capability.

The value of a first-generation Grand Cherokee that’s even slightly rough crashed hard quite a few years ago and has remained just a hair above scrap value ever since, so junkyards here in SUV-crazed Colorado tend to be packed with these trucks. XJ Cherokees are plentiful as well, but I tend to notice them more than the bigger and more Chryslerated Grands.This ’97, however, is one of the (presumably) super-rare Orvis Editions, and so I broke out the camera when I saw it in a Denver yard last week.

Did anyone else get a RoboCop vibe from the JGC intro vid? I expected police marked ’87 Tauruses to come flying out of nowhere.

Would love to see a Grand Cherokee TSi junkyard find. Anyone else a fan of the blue trim/pinstriping?

Yes, This was a sport or touring model. They had the TSI only machined aluminum 5 spoke wheels and perforated Euro style upholstery. Many of the Eagle models such as the Vision also used the TSi trim moniker. There was also a base version Grand Cherokee offered in 92-94. It was a Larado without the black cladding and just black mid-door trim.

@MRF 95 T-Bird A few more early year Grand Cherokee oddities: 1993 only (?) manual transmission option with the 4.0L. Also, I think that first year of Grand Cherokee had the excellent AW4 Aisin automatic transmission used in the XJ Cherokee coupled with the 4.0L before they switched to the more trouble prone 42H.

@MRF 95 T-Bird I knew it was lifted from Eagle, I guess to help better coordinate the brands as they shared a lot of former AMC dealerships. For some reason I think the base Grand Cherokee you mention was called the SE, though I could be wrong.

@blackEldo According to Wikipedia the base model in 92-93 was just that then in 94 they renamed it SE. The manual was dropped after 94 due to low demand. The Grand Wagoneer had the faux wood trim and the plusher interior.

It’s not all or nothing, there is real space between the hybrid Mav and full blown Trail Hawk capabilities. Likewise, the price of this package is reasonable on its face, though who knows about anything in practice these days.Personally, I lean to an XL/XLT hybrid for best price/performance but I would like to see it with AWD b/c winter is a thing in my case.

  • ChristianWimmer Great city cars. Worked at a Benz dealer back in the day when these were fairly new and drove all models including later the Brabus version. They drive surprisingly well and handling isn’t bad for what they are. I’d say the worst/annoying feature they had was a jerky automatic transmission. No matter how you drove them, sporty or relaxed, the transmission never shifted smoothly.A friend of mine has the early 2000s 3-cylinder Diesel version. It’s slow and loud but gets amazing fuel economy and he can find a parking space anywhere in car-unfriendly German cities where they are actively tearing down parking spaces to force us into public transportation.The interior on this one is amazing. Tastefully done.
  • Kat Laneaux I have a F150 4×4 Lariat — I thought about getting the Maverick. Looked at it, looked at Frontier (quoted $46,000) nothing extra. manual rear window, Maverick (they quoted $32,000.) nothing extra or wow about it and a Ranger (quoted $36,000), then looked at my F150 again (paid off). Other than getting better mileage. I decided to do the engine a justice and forgo the $600.00 payments (that’s including a trade in of $12,500), including the insurance, and deal with a nice truck that can do all that those smaller trucks can do without the heavy payments. One day when things are better, which we all know, won’t happen any time soon, I will revisit this idea and see where I am, again.
