They had to disconnect the abs in order to change the pads so it set off the abs light. you can just drive for a while and it might go away or you can disconnect the battery for 10 seconds but be careful the car player might ask for the code in order to play it.

Did you change the sensors when you changed the pads?

Not likely the ABS pump there is something wrong with the mechanical brakes it sounds like the emergency brake is not adjusted try adjusting the rear cable first then pull the emergency brake and push your foot on the brake if it is still to the floor you have a problem with a cylinder or a mechanical adjustment, if it’s higher with the E brake on then you have the adjusters not set right and the cables not adjusted, So adjust the cables first. If the brakes are spongy with the engine off then it will need to be power bleed if that does not fix it then you may have the wrong brake shoes or pads on the car. Did you install the plates in the wheel rotor front braes? If not you lose 1/4 inch travel on the from pads, if the basic brakes are not right the ABS side is not going to be right so those problems have to be dealt with first. Also DO YOU HAVE A POWER ASSIST BOOSTER IF SO IT COULD BE BAD, TO TEST HAVE SOMEONE STEP ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND PULL THE HOSE OFF THE BRAKE BOOSTER IT’S behind the master cylinder (sorry for the caps) if you don’t here a suction sound when you remove the hose then you have a bad heck valve by the booster connected to the hose that plugs into the booster. if all of this is ok then it may be the ABS booster but normally its a bleeding problem. write a comment if this does not help or you need another lead,

I have a 2000 Audi A4 and the break wear sensor warning light come on for me too. It does not flash and is orange in color. I have asked the Audi dealer twice about it and they told me it’s because the previous owner put aftermarket break pads on it, thus messing up the sensors. I don’t know about the ABS warning and other than that I wish you luck on it.

2006 audi A6 ESP light problem ESP light comes
A good place to start is the brake light switch.
There are 2 circuits in there: 1 for the brake lights and the other for the car computer (ESP, Engine brake etc. )
If the brake switch has an intermittent fault, the EPS light may come on and the car may run rough until you stop the vehicle and remove the key. It then re-set itself until the next time you are using the brakes and the fault appears again.

The ESP system means the Electronic Stability Program. If the ESP lights on the dashboard permanently the ESP system is faulty.
You should access the ESP Electronic Control Unit (ECU) memory for pull out all DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Codes), using diagnostic equipment connected to the data link connector of the car. Then you will be full informed about bad pieces (e.g.: brake pedal switch, front right wheel abs sensor interrupted, . ). After bad pieces replacement you will be able to erase all faults memored by ESP ECU, in other words reset the ESP system and turn off the warning lamp on dashboard.
Check & replace if necessary the brake pedal switch placed above pedals on the support.
If the problem still occurs you should access the ABS & ESP ECU (Electronic Control Unit) using diagnostic equipment connected to the data link connector of the car, in order to pull out all DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) memored.
Then you will be able to replace bad piece(s) and fix the problem by erasing all DTC stocked inside ABS & ESP ECU, and reset it.

Esp light flashing
There could be one or more of several reasons why the ESP light has illuminated on your Smart car.
For example, you could have a fault with dirty reluctor rings on the Abs system — faulty Abs sensor/ s . a fault with the brake light switch — a fault with the steering angle sensor — even a software glitch / issue in the control system.
The above are known issues that can and do cause the Esp light to come on.
What you will have to do is have the car connected to a dealer diagnostic machine — This will run a full diagnostic test and fault code read — to see why the Esp light has come on and quickly and efficiently find the right cause — and then it can be sorted out, whatever it transpires to be.
You really cannot do much on a Diy basis on these for this fault. You can check the reluctor rings as mentioned above and the wiring to the ABS sensors. The abs light will often come on to with the Esp light — but not always. Dont check these these things with the Ign On.
Too, you can check to see if the brake lights are working — if they are not — thats a definite indication of brake lamp switch failure which will cause the Esp light to come on — but while its worth checking — even if the lights do work — it doesn’t always follow the switch is ok — it has a dual function — brake lights and engine management circuitry.
At which point, if you have found nothing — you will have to have the diagnostic done as above to find the fault.

I’m looking to code out the audi hill hold assist feature as its complete rubbish.
After much searching, I see other people in various vehicles believe its more of a hinderence than a help due to it activating at random times after initial acceleration etc etc and the infamous «Audi hill hold assist malfunction» message that appears in the MMI panel in the middle of the instrument cluster.
I’ve seen on youtube that someo else has successfully been able to «activate» the function scrolling through the long coding option on the ABS module and enabling the check box.
However when I browse to my ABS module using ODBEleven I do not see this option listed.
When I scroll through the long coding I see things like Anti lock breaking system/airbags/climate control, all wheel drive etc
Or is there another module I need to be scrolling through ?
I have seen this youtube video stating how to enable/disable it
I would have though it would be possible to disable because the car does have this option activated, so I would have thought I could disable it.
