Gran Turismo 5/Pick-Up Truck Challenge
You must reach Level 6 in order to enter any race ‘Pick Up Truck Challenge’. You are limited to using one of the following cars:
Except for the Dodge, you will only find these in the Used Car Dealership, so check it every once in a while, eventually they appear.
- Dodge RAM 1500 Hemi Quad Cab ’04
- Toyota Tacoma X-Runner ’04
- Ford SVT F-150 Lightning ’03
- Chevrolet SSR ’03
- Chevrolet Silverado SST Concept ’02
- Daihatsu Midget II D type ’98
Tyres | Unrestricted ( ) / Sports: Hard ( ) |
---|
Recommended Car [ edit ]
- For both Specs, you can win with the Dodge RAM 1500 Hemi Quad Cab ’04. The stock Dodge RAM will struggle on the Daytona track, however. A fully customizable transmission tuned for a maximum speed of over 170 mph will simplify the Daytona race considerably.
- A Ford Lightning, lightly upgraded, is enough for A-Spec. If you can get it up to about 500bhp it should be enough to get you through the A-spec. To win with this vehicle in B-spec, some further upgrades will be necessary.
Races [ edit ]
The event consists of two races:
Track | Laguna Seca | Superpeedway — Daytona |
---|---|---|
A-Spec laps | 3 | 3 |
B-Spec laps | 6 | 6 |
Prize Money [ edit ]
In this event, prize money is awarded for placing in the following positions in a race:
1st | 8,700cr | 2nd | 6,280cr | 3rd | 5,560cr |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
4th | 5,220cr | 5th | 5,070cr | 6th | 4,980cr |
Prize Cars [ edit ]
Cars obtained for getting Gold Trophies (i.e. finishing first) in both the races are as follows. Note that each car will only be awarded once, so be mindful of this if you choose to sell.

Maybe they should stop releasing seasonal events and regular updates….. bet those who complain would love that! We should all be grateful that we’re getting any content….period!
A bit offensive that! If you want to pick on a group, why not choose one that no one cares about…say those who have these big trucks and live in a city but never take it out to the countryside or have a job that requires one?
Uhhh, that’s also offensive.. Lol. People can drive whatever they want whenever they want, because at the end of the day, it’s theirs and not yours. If buddy wants to off-road with a Veyron, all the more power to him.
Why do people just continuously complain about any nice thing that comes thier way? These comments are ALL complaints even mine, sadly. So ill stop complaing and say what i came here to say. Truck racing yay!! This is awesome. The trucks in this game are beastly so the races will be awesome.
No, it’s not awesome. There is a major reason to complain, because seasonals are very repetitive. We already have got pickup’s events two times in A-spec. Implementing them again in seasonals is needless. Instead of this they should give as convertibles cup, station wagon cups, Corvette meeting, Viper Meeting, Luxury sedans cup and etc. This is what A-spec is missing. And the should give these in seasonals to make up for poorly diversified A-spec. Since I got Forza 4 I haven’t been playing seasonals (except Time trials). In that game there are events for almost every car the game offers.
And they should implement perfomance bonus (with next update) for every events in A-spec, after this stop putting these repettive seasonals.
Challenger – GT4 took me six months to complete and I only did a few events again. GT5 has lasted far longer than that and I had more gaming time per day available too – this is excluding the Seasonals, just career and all of the challenges, license tests etc. I didn’t een wasteany of that time with online either. I think this whole “A-Spec is so short” trend is so untrue.
The Seasonals can be repetitive. Its frustrating when a lack of imagination plagues a simple theory. Keep events changing every 2 months. TT Locations, Drift Events, ASpec Events should be reevaluated and upgraded more consistently to maximize playability, challenge worthiness and fun factor. PD could take some hints from the various leagues represented here on GTP.
Im involved in a league (LLC) whos next event is at Spa in LMP cars (C60 Hybrid) with weather on 2 hr endurance. Now 120 minutes may be tasking, but a purposeful 15-20 min ASpec event with Day to Night or Weather options could bring back that loving feeling. (IMO)
its always good when you get some variety!
Pity I dont drive seasonals anymore..
they all are the same, and racing from the back all the time is just wrong. no practice, no qualify to understand the opponent… very empty… sad.. cant wait for GT6 to bring some fresh stuff.. hope it will be more racing “simulation” style, not just driving.
Chasing the White Rabbit No. 5202 … we could have guns and bombs to launch too. racing?… and if you come with the driving simulator story that just take out the other cars and go for time trial… at least you “race” with someone, somehow… thank God for multiplayer…
