1978 Ford Bronco Ranger XLT 4X4

You can get all the workhorse features you want in a 4×4 SUV, and still not have to give up the cool vintage appearance. Best of all, this attention-grabbing 1978 Ford Bronco with premium Ranger XLT trim is well-documented and will cost you less than a brand new 4×4.

You just don’t see classics like this anymore. The factory-correct Light Jade is an interesting color of distinction. And the Wimbledon White is expertly interwoven on the side and hood while also coordinating with the white fiberglass roof. So it’s a terrific color combo that came straight from the factory, and it’s rare. We have the Marti report that proves this full package is one of only 158 Broncos that were optioned this way. Plus, all the brightwork on the chrome bumpers, large trailering mirrors, and full premium XLT Ranger side trim makes this one an instant classic. But despite very vintage appearance, the younger age means this truck still has a lot of practical daily use left in it. In fact, the full trailer hitch makes this a Bronco that’s ready for all activities.

While you can take the white roof off to make this a convertible 4×4, you can instantly tell from the condition of the metallic jade seats that this has not spent much time exposed to the elements (if ever.) As a premium Ranger XLT trim package you get some nice wood grain appliques on the doors, steering wheel, and dash. Plus, the power rear window and factory front buckets with cup holder center console are more great premium and period-correct features. And while this has a great classic presentation, you do get nice extras, like an upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo and R134a air conditioning.

Powering this Bronco is Ford’s trusty 351 cubic-inch V8. This already powerful motor gets enhanced even further by inhaling deeply through an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor. But beyond added power, it all looks particularly stock – right down to the factory jack still mounted in the engine bay. So it’s even believed to be the original motor. But as preserved as this looks, it’ll be hard to resist taking this one off the pavement considering it’s a 4×4 with a two-speed transfer case, high ground clearance, and a great set of Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ tires. And for the days you just want to go to the hardware store, the three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and power brakes w/disc up front all mean this Bronco can run around town with ease.

Not only do you get the Marti Report, but also the original warranty card, owner’s manual, and copy of the window sticker. This is the cool classic Bronco that retains its bright and distinct factory presentation. So at a price like this, you know you’re looking at a 4×4 deal that will be moving fast. Don’t miss out, call today!

1978 Ford Bronco XLT Ranger

The 2nd generation Bronco was a massive upgrade from the previous version with an overall larger footprint and more power. These were built to still perform off the road but also a more dependable and enjoyable drive. These saw very strong sales numbers and the general public really latched onto these for many weekend adventures.

Offered here is a very nice tribute to the “Free Wheeling” option setup that Ford offered and are extremely hot items. This truck was sold new out of Bob Ford in Dearborn Michigan and was originally a two-tone Silver Metallic with Raven black trim. The previous owner in 2012 stripped the paint down and had it repainted entirely in Raven Black exterior and added the decal package. Vehicle has a strong stance and with the lift kit and 33in full terrain tires that give it a very aggressive and bold stance. Newer Skyjacker shocks and springs were added at time and a few performance items such as; performance cam, roller rockers, aluminum intake, Holley 4v carburetor, and headers with dual exhaust that sounds awesome. With just 72k miles on the odometer and believed to be accurate this Bronco has a lot of life left to enjoy.

This Bronco was further optioned with; automatic transmission, 3.00 rear axle, power steering, power brakes, A/C (inop), privacy glass, tinted windows, voltage and oil pressure gauges, rear stabilizer bar, convenience group and the Ranger XLT package.

These are only going in one direction and the market remains red hot for just about all Bronco’s and this is a great opportunity to purchase now. Vehicle does come with factory correct and matching front bucket cloth seats, but will require some modifications to the current frame rails and properly mounting them to vehicle. We did notice two rust holes on the floors but an easy fix and depending on what you want to do with the front seats there are many choices for the next owner. This is a truck you can enjoy and drive and have fun with on the trails, beach scene or take it to a whole other level for your preference. Vehicle comes with a Deluxe Marti Report.

Gr Auto Gallery, LLC and our sister company, Wheelz Sales and Leasing Inc. makes every effort to represent each vehicle accurately and with integrity. We also welcome third party inspections when necessary. Although we try to do our very best to be accurate in our description writing we are human and do make mistakes. 1978 Ford Bronco XLT Ranger

GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1978 Ford Bronco XLT Ranger 4×4 for purchase. In mid-1977 Ford introduced the first full-size Broncos for the 1978 model year. The long awaited ’78 Bronco was so popular that many people had to wait six months or longer to get one from their local Ford dealers. Consumers just couldn’t get enough of them. Even the automobile and truck magazines of the time raved on and on about the new full-size Broncos. The ’78 Bronco practically swept up every accolade with 4×4 and truck-of-the-year awards. One of the main reasons for the new Bronco’s instant celebrity status was the combination of functionality and ruggedness the vehicle offered. The F-Series 4x4s had a long standing reputation for being the best built full-size trucks on the market. With the introduction of the full-size Bronco, consumers could now have a vehicle with all the ruggedness of the F-Series trucks combined with luxury features such as A/C, cruise control, roll bars, AM/FM/CB stereos, delay wipers, bucket seats, center consoles, and even tilt steering — all in a short wheel base package that was easy to maneuver both on and off the road. Consumers could also choose exactly how they wanted their new Bronco equipped with two basic models being offered; the Custom, which was marketed towards the «outdoor enthusiast» and the Ranger XLT , which was marketed as more of family-oriented daily driver. Ford also offered a «Free-Wheelin» package on both the Custom & the Ranger XLT that featured tri-color striping, black bumpers, black low mount western-style mirrors, sport steering wheel, special glove box appliqué, and custom wheels.
This ’78 Bronco is in excellent condition spending the majority of its life in Oklahoma while being well maintained and cared for. It’s powered by the 400ci V8 paired with an automatic transmission. It features MSD Ignition, power steering, Edelbrock Carburetor, electric choke, heavy duty radiator, halogen headlights, aftermarket springs, Rough Country suspension lift system, dual exhaust, Bully side steps, Warn locking hubs, Mickey Thompson tires, power rear windows, trailer hitch, and Pioneer sound system. This is a big mean southern bred Bronco that runs and drives great! Please call or email for more details!
