2022 Ford Ranger Wildtrak Coming to Australia Early Next Year
New 2022 Ford Ranger Wildtrak will introduce numerous refreshments and the first spy shots are showing exactly that. This is a very popular pickup truck, especially in Australia. A few days ago, we saw a prototype of the Wildtrak variant, wearing new styling. As before, most of the cues and features are based on the regular Ranger mid-size pickup truck.
However, the 2022 Wildtrak will also borrow a lot of stuff from the F-150 light-duty truck and even from the upcoming Bronco SUV. The result is an impressive and wilder pickup truck with so much to offer. It seems like the approaching Ranger Wildtrak will be one of the most exciting models with plenty of sportiness and modern features. Reportedly, this model will hit the dealerships in the first quarter of 2022.
2022 Ranger Wildtrak Spy Shots
As we said, the first spy shots of the 2022 Ford Ranger Wildtrak are available. The spied prototype wears heavy camouflage, but most of the latest updates are visible at first glance. The new model will look like a younger brother of the famous F-150 pickup truck. To this moment, only the Super Duty trucks were available with this approach. However, the new Wildtrak will now also host a recognizable front grille that looks sophisticated and upright.
Moreover, squared-off headlights are on offer again, but this time with the c-shaped light elements. It seems like the front and rear bumpers are wider, which provides a slightly more aggressive look. Unfortunately, the side profile updates are not visible on spy shots. However, new model could slightly grow in size, although the platform remains intact. Finally, Ford will introduce new exterior colors and new side steps.
Interior Updates
The 2022 Ford Ranger Wildtrak will benefit from recent cooperation between Ford and Volkswagen. As you know, Ford Ranger and Volkswagen Amarok will share a lot of components in the future. Thanks to that, the Wildtrak model will gain improved interior design, with an SUV-like approach. A new version will introduce more high-quality materials and some plastic materials will be replaced.
On top of that, Ranger Wildtrak should arrive with a larger touchscreen option. At this moment, a 12-inch unit is rumored, along with the newest safety aids. At this point, the interior is perhaps the biggest mystery, so we’ll have to wait for the manufacturer to reveal closer details.
Wildtrak Borrows Engine From the Bronco SUV
The upcoming 2022 Ford Ranger Wildtrak will deploy a famous T6 body-on-frame structure. If you didn’t know, this platform is capable of accommodating a hybrid powertrain and longer wheelbase. Thanks to that, the new Wildtrak will borrow a thing or two from the new Ford Bronco SUV that rides on the same architecture.
A 2.3-liter turbo-four engine with 270 horsepower is the most likely outcome for the Wildtrak. On the other hand, various reports are strongly suggesting a new turbo V6 gasoline engine as an optional choice. Blue Oval manufacturer will provide an impressive 10-speed automatic transmission, while a 7-speed manual gearbox could be replaced.
2022 Ford Ranger Wildtrak Price, Release Date
As for the price, new 2022 Ford Ranger Wildtrak will cost around $40,000. Ford will launch its facelifted Wildtrak variant in the first quarter of 2022, in Australia. The brand will reveal more details in the coming months.

Новая глобальная модель пикапа Ford Ranger пришла на смену модели P375 на платформе T6. Пока фордовцы не раскрывают технические характеристики модели, но сообщили, что Ford Ranger 2022-2023 года получил от предшественника модернизированную основу (были доработаны подвеска и рама), а еще прибавка в колесной базе и колее составили по 50 мм.
Покупателям будет предложен выбор из трех дизельных моторов: трехлитровый V6 с турбокомпрессором и четырехцилиндровый 2.0 Single-Turbo с одинарным или двойным турбонаддувом в двух вариантах форсировки.
На фото в обзоре Форд Рейнджер в желтом цвете – это версия Widtrak, синего цвета – XLT и серого – Sport.
По словам производителя, данная модель Рейнджера является самой умной и универсальной. Среди новшеств матричные фары и мультимедийная система Sync 4 с вертикально распложенным дисплеем.
Позднее Ranger наверняка получит и бензиновые двигатели, например, когда модель поступит в продажу в Северной Америке. А еще по предварительной информации будет и заряжаемый от сети гибрид. Версий полного привода для пикапа будет две: с электронной системой переключения и более современная и умная с постоянным полным приводом и режимом set-and-forget.
Также в списке оснащения значиться система кругового обзора и беспроводная зарядка для гаджетов. Программное обеспечение обновляется «по воздуху» через систему Ford Power-Up. Увеличилось и число емкостей под мелочевку, в том числе боксы под задними сидениями и под ними, а также перчаточный ящик.
Производить глобальный Ford Ranger четвертого поколения будут в Таиланде и Южной Африке в начале 2022 года. В Европе начнут принимать заказы на новинку в конце 2022 года, а поставки начнутся в 2023 году. На пикап будет предложено более 150 аксессуаров, в том числе от фирмы ARB 4×4. Информация для других рынков будет объявлена позднее, скорее всего речь идет о 2023 годе. Всего же новая модель будет предлагаться более чем в 100 странах.
Напоследок остается добавить, что Ford Ranger послужит основой для пикапа Volkswagen Amarok второго поколения, дебют которого состоится в 2022 году. Еще у Рейнджера появиться родственный внедорожник Everest третьего поколения.
